Collecting stakeholder views in ICP care
Standard 39: Stakeholder views about ICP care are collected and acted on.

Criteria
39a A survey (or similar) of staff, about the ICP process is conducted at least annually and the survey results acted on.

39b A survey (or similar) of service users and informal carers about the care they have received is conducted at least annually, and the survey results acted on.

Supporting material for service improvement standard 39:
Staff and service user surveys are crucial for getting feedback about the ICP process and about the experience of having care delivered to someone through an ICP. These surveys can also be an important part of involving these key stakeholders in the service improvements that matter most.

No single survey is being recommended here. We suggest that each NHS board area develops its own survey or questionnaire to meet its needs. The most important element of designing your survey is involving staff and service users in the process of developing them. This process will foster partnership and good working relationships with staff and with service users and informal carers. This will also ensure that feedback is obtained about the important local issues.
