Standard 5: Training and supervision needs are identified and acted upon.
Criteria
5a There are systems to ensure that the training and supervision needs of staff are acted upon.
5b Training and supervision needs are incorporated into the organisation’s workforce development plans and/or local governance arrangements.
Supporting material for process standard 5:
Services should configure themselves to meet the needs of people who seek their help. There should be a system of reviewing service user needs against the staff skill mix. Such a system should include a mechanism for regular review (yearly) to ensure the training keeps pace with the needs of service users.
In the case of psychological therapies, these should be backed up by training, clinical supervision and audit.
