Rationale
There needs to be a multi-agency and
multidisciplinary process for recording, collating analysing,
reporting, and acting upon variances. Grouped variations may
indicate where service re-design and improvement is required.
Systems should be in place to allocate resources appropriately.
All variance from planned care needs
to be monitored, reported, acted upon, and reviewed at:
- local service management level,
including senior members of the care team, and
- NHS board and
local
authority
directorate level.
In accordance with the
GIRFEC
principles and the Healthcare Quality Strategy, the views of
children, young people and their parents/carers need to be
reflected in this process.
