Rationale
Strategic leadership and planning are
key factors in promoting and developing multi‑agency and
multidisciplinary training to ensure a competent workforce is in
place across all relevant services; particularly health, education
and social services.
There should be systems for reviewing children, young people’s
and their parents/carers’ needs against available resources, staff
skills, attitudes and capabilities. Knowing who needs which
services, and monitoring whether their needs are met, offers a real
opportunity to improve both the care and the quality of life for
children, young people and their parents/carers.
