What is an ICP?
An ICP is a tool that allows the comparison of planned care with care actually given. ICPs allow any variances in planned care to be recorded, analysed and acted upon.

An ICP is much more than a document of care. It encompasses how care is organised, co-ordinated and governed, and embodies a system of continuous quality improvement. ICPs promote information-sharing and collaborative working between stakeholders , including children, young people and their parents/carers and partner agencies. Development of ICPs also offers new opportunities for sustained quality improvement in CAMH services.
