Rationale
Structured psychological and/or psychosocial interventions can benefit service users, either as the primary means of treatment or in addition to other treatments.
Evidence of the effectiveness of psychological therapies is based on the person delivering a therapy having been trained and accredited, and practising within a framework of supervision, support, audit and review.
Examples of evidence required to meet standard 15:
Criteria 15a:
- Local training plans
- Up to date list/register of staff trained in therapies
- Up to date list/register of staff currently practising
- Supervision policy/protocol
- Minutes of group supervision
Criteria 15b:
- Assessment forms
- Space in care plans to record assessment of need for psychological and/or psychosocial interventions
Criteria 15c:
- Evidence that service users are offered a range of therapies
- Up to date Information on what therapies are available locally
Criteria 15d:
- Psychological therapies strategy or local plan
- Record of anonymised outcomes of psychological therapies
